  • Raise maintenance requests and document findings effectively in the CMMS system, participating in root cause failure analyses for significant breakdowns.
  • Supervise and verify lubrication processes, ensuring correct lubricants and application schedules as per OEM and engineering standards, overseeing contamination control measures, and eliminating task backlogs.
  • Manage conveyor belt and chute inspection teams, ensuring thorough and accurate inspection routes, identifying wear trends or risks, reporting defects, and supporting enhancements such as redesigns and tool improvements.
  • Coordinate condition monitoring daily operations, including task scheduling, workload distribution, reviewing findings, and ensuring quality reporting during senior staff absences.
  • Prepare detailed reports on condition monitoring, lubrication, and inspections, updating CMMS data accurately and tracking key performance indicators to support reliability reports and asset health dashboards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by recommending enhancements to condition-based maintenance strategies, lubrication practices, and inspection procedures, aiding in training and upskilling team members.

Competencies and Attributes

  • Proficiency in advanced condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis (CAT II minimum), thermography and ultrasound (CAT I advantageous), and oil analysis (CAT I minimum).
  • Strong diagnostic acumen across multiple predictive maintenance disciplines and in-depth knowledge of lubrication best practices, contamination control, and condition monitoring data evaluation.
  • Expert understanding of conveyor and chute wear mechanisms and the capacity to develop and deliver technical training.
  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office suite, CMMS, SCADA, OSIsoft PI, and familiarity with online monitoring platforms.
  • Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), failure mode effects analysis (FMEA), maintenance task analysis (MTA), and equipment strategy formation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication skills, self-motivation, organizational ability, leadership qualities, and a strong commitment to safety and discipline.

Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience in condition monitoring within mining or heavy industry environments, with experience diagnosing fixed plant machinery including mills, crushers, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes.
  • Hands-on familiarity with predictive maintenance tools, CMMS, and plant monitoring systems.
  • Background in managing lubrication programs, contamination control, and generating maintenance reports.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising teams and managing inspection or maintenance activities, including incident investigation and root cause analysis.
