Job description
Job purpose
This position is responsible for steering the bid management process for strategic and complex opportunities, making sure proposals support business priorities, comply with applicable regulations, and deliver strong commercial results. The role also involves coordinating across teams, improving proposal quality, and strengthening governance throughout the bid lifecycle. All duties must be performed in line with the company’s policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities
- Create and roll out bid strategies and governance structures for both standard and complex opportunities across sales verticals, ensuring they support business objectives and meet regulatory obligations.
- Oversee the full bid cycle, from receiving and assessing RFPs through to final response preparation, working closely with teams such as sales, finance, legal, and technology.
- Lead the preparation of persuasive, compliant technical and commercial submissions, including pricing estimates, supplier selection, and development and approval of business cases.
- Make sure all proposals meet the requirements of CST and any other relevant regulators, while proactively reducing exposure to compliance breaches and related penalties.
- Improve bid methods, tools, and templates on an ongoing basis, and provide informed recommendations on whether to pursue or decline opportunities.
- Act as the central coordinator for communication and alignment across functions during the proposal journey, including smooth transfer of awarded work to project delivery teams.
- Conduct after-action bid reviews and evaluate deal performance to identify strengths, uncover gaps, and apply corrective actions that enhance future bid outcomes.
- Maintain a shared bid knowledge base so key information remains available and easy to access for the right stakeholders.
- Monitor market developments, procurement rules, and new technologies to keep the business prepared and competitive in strategic bidding activities.
Experience and background
The role calls for 6 to 8 years of relevant experience, with prior exposure to the telecommunications industry. The position is classified at SME level.
Education and qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering is required. A master’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering is also mentioned. Certifications are listed as an additional educational requirement.
