Job Overview
This role offers a unique opportunity for individuals with a background in psychology or counseling to transition into a law enforcement career at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). You will utilize your expertise in behavioral science, mental health counseling, and crisis intervention to investigate and counteract threats to national security, including cyberattacks, terrorism, and violent crimes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead investigations into suspected violations of federal laws affecting cybersecurity and public safety.
- Apply critical thinking, sound judgment, and adaptability to meet the complex demands of investigative work.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with various federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement entities.
- Maintain physical fitness standards necessary for performing the duties of a law enforcement agent.
Qualifications and Eligibility
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
- Ability to secure a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance is required.
- Must be willing to undertake travel as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Must satisfy all FBI employment eligibility criteria.
- Possession of at least a bachelor's degree from a U.S.-accredited institution; preferred fields include psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related disciplines.
