Job Overview

This role, exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze, seeks individuals with a legal background to become FBI Special Agents. This position harnesses analytical, investigative, and legal skills to protect national security by investigating violent crimes, cyber threats, terrorism, fraud, and other evolving dangers.

Role Summary

Your legal training prepares you to analyze complex information and make sound judgments. At the FBI, you'll convert data and legal knowledge into actionable intelligence, taking ownership of investigations to protect public safety. Daily challenges will require adaptability and critical thinking within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead investigations into potential federal law violations, cybersecurity breaches, and public safety threats.
  • Apply judgment and resourcefulness to address varied investigative needs.
  • Build and maintain productive partnerships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
  • Maintain physical fitness levels to meet the duty demands of law enforcement.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Compliance with FBI Employment Eligibility standards.
  • Bachelor's or Juris Doctor degree, preferably in law, legal studies, or a related discipline from an accredited U.S. institution.
  • Verification of education via official transcripts is required.

Compensation

The pay scale ranges from $93,749 to $133,200 annually, adjusted based on base pay, location, and availability incentives.
