Overview

This role is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze. Serving as a Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), you will harness your analytical thinking, investigative mindset, and technology background to contribute directly to national security. Your responsibilities involve tackling complex issues such as cyberattacks, terrorism, fraud, and other evolving threats. Through your expertise in data analysis and pattern recognition, you will assist in uncovering critical evidence and supporting law enforcement investigations.

Translating Your Skills

Your experience in cybersecurity and technology forms the foundation for your career as an FBI Special Agent. Proficiency in SQL, Python, JavaScript, along with knowledge of C programming, machine learning, and deep learning, equips you to interpret information and solve complicated problems with adaptability and sound judgment. Your technical skills transition into handling evidence and insights essential to making investigative decisions.

Major Responsibilities

  • Design and execute investigations related to federal laws regarding cybersecurity and public safety.
  • Apply sound judgment, resourcefulness, and flexibility to meet investigative requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong liaison networks with law enforcement agencies at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards necessary to perform demanding law enforcement duties.

Key Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness to travel as required for assignments.
  • Fulfillment of FBI employment eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualifications

Applicants should possess at least a bachelor's degree or higher from a U.S.-accredited university, preferably in fields such as computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or a related area. Official transcripts verifying degree completion must be submitted.
