Overview
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking individuals with a cybersecurity or technology background to serve as Special Agents. This unique role combines your analytical and technical skills with federal law enforcement responsibilities to combat violent crime, cyber threats, terrorism, and fraud. You will apply advanced data analysis and investigative expertise to protect national security and public safety.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and execute investigations involving potential breaches of federal law related to cybersecurity and other public safety concerns.
- Utilize judgment, adaptability, and innovative problem-solving to address complex investigative needs.
- Establish and nurture collaborative relationships with municipal, tribal, state, federal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain a high standard of physical fitness essential for law enforcement duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be a United States citizen eligible to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
- Willingness to travel as required for assignments and investigations.
- Fulfill the FBI’s criteria for employment eligibility, including background checks and clearances.
- Possess at least a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited U.S. institution, ideally in computer science, engineering, data science, information technology, or closely related fields.
- Resume limited to two pages, properly documenting all relevant experience and dates.
- Provision of official college transcripts and, if applicable, veterans’ documentation as part of the application process.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Demonstrated proficiency in programming languages including SQL, Python, JavaScript, and familiarity with C, machine learning, and deep learning concepts. Ability to interpret complex data sets and identify patterns as evidence within investigations, transitioning technical expertise into actionable intelligence.
Compensation and Additional Information
- Annual salary range: $93,749 to $133,200, aligned with base pay, locality adjustments, and other availability pay.
