Overview

This position, exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze, invites professionals with accounting backgrounds to join the FBI as Special Agents. This role offers the chance to enhance financial expertise through specialized investigative work dealing with critical national security issues including cyberattacks, terrorism, and fraud.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage investigations related to potential violations of federal laws, especially in matters of cybersecurity and public safety.
  • Employ sound judgment and adaptability to meet complex investigative needs.
  • Establish and sustain effective partnerships with a broad network of law enforcement agencies across federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards necessary for performing demanding law enforcement tasks.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to qualify for a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as job duties require.
  • Compliance with all FBI employment eligibility standards.

Education and Qualifications

Candidates must possess at least a bachelor's degree from a U.S.-accredited university, preferably in accounting or a related discipline such as business administration, finance, or forensic accounting. Verification via official college transcripts is required.

Compensation and Application Process

The salary scale ranges from $93,749 to $133,200 annually, adjusted for base pay, locality, and availability.
