Role Overview
The Spare Parts Manager for Hino Commercial Vehicles will spearhead the spare parts operations in the UAE. This leadership role is pivotal in attaining monthly sales and annual budget targets, optimizing inventory to meet operational demands, managing relationships with B2B clients and distributors, and maintaining stellar customer satisfaction. The manager will adhere strictly to Al-Futtaim Automotive’s governance and values, ensuring alignment of spare parts functions with overarching business objectives. Success hinges upon delivering excellent financial results, operational effectiveness, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive achievement of monthly spare parts sales goals and meet or exceed annual revenue and gross margin targets.
- Develop, administer, and monitor the annual operating budget for spare parts, applying corrective measures as needed based on performance reviews.
- Oversee inventory investment and working capital to promote profitability while controlling costs.
- Manage entire spare parts lifecycle: forecasting, acquisition, stocking, and distribution of genuine Hino parts ensuring adequate supply to workshops, B2B clients, fleet accounts, and distributors.
- Maintain inventory quality by monitoring stock turnover rates, reducing aging and obsolescence, and conducting regular physical stock audits per company and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards.
- Coordinate with Hino principals and authorized suppliers on procurement activities, pricing structures, promotions, warranty claims, and returns, assuring compliance with OEM policies and procedures.
- Support distributor and dealer network needs, sustaining agreed service levels.
- Lead and mentor the spare parts team, emphasizing manpower planning, performance evaluation, training initiatives, and succession readiness.
- Promote a culture focused on accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and adherence to company values.
- Collaborate closely with aftersales departments such as Service, Sales, Warranty, Finance, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless customer support.
- Establish and nurture strong connections with B2B clients, fleet operators, distributors, and internal teams; serve as the escalation authority for critical spare parts issues.
- Utilize ERP/DMS systems effectively for parts ordering, inventory control, invoicing, and reporting duties.
- Prepare and deliver management reports on sales performance, inventory status, stock aging, and key performance indicators.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and health and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least five years of experience managing spare parts or aftersales operations within the UAE market.
- Demonstrated expertise in B2B engagements managing fleet, corporate, and key accounts.
- Proven success in dealer and distributor operating models, ideally within commercial vehicles or the heavy-duty automotive segment.
- Comprehensive understanding of UAE market characteristics, customer expectations, and distributor frameworks.
- Strong commercial insight, customer-oriented mindset, results-driven approach, and effective planning and organizational skills.
