About Victoria Diagnostic Imaging

Victoria Diagnostic Imaging delivers a full spectrum of radiological services across Victoria, offering modalities including X-ray, Ultrasound, CT scan, MRI, and BMD (DEXA) at multiple clinics including Carrum Downs, Hampton Park, Rowville, and Clyde North.

Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Sonographer to become a vital part of our expert and dynamic team based at the Carrum Downs Clinic. This is a full-time role with a salary package of $110,000 annually plus superannuation, subject to experience.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Effectively operate ultrasound machinery to acquire precise and clear diagnostic images.
  • Provide patients with information regarding the ultrasound process, responding to their concerns to foster comfort and informed consent.
  • Modify ultrasound device parameters according to the diagnostic requirements and patient conditions for optimum image clarity.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient data and imaging, ensuring compliance with privacy and confidentiality laws.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and maintenance to guarantee proper functioning.
  • Follow safety protocols to reduce ultrasound exposure risks and maintain a secure environment.
  • Adapt scanning methodologies based on the patient's specific needs and target areas.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a Post Graduate Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related discipline.
  • Hold accreditation from the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR) relevant to medical ultrasound.
  • Have a minimum of four years’ experience conducting ultrasound examinations, including general, pregnancy, musculoskeletal, pediatric, and Doppler studies.
  • Demonstrate at least four years of expertise performing diagnostic ultrasound on abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts imaging.
  • Experience with advanced ultrasound device operation, including optimizing Doppler settings, probe choice, image depth, gain, focus, and measurement accuracy, over at least four years.
  • Proficient in interpreting live sonographic anatomy, detecting abnormalities, and composing precise technical reports for radiologist evaluation with at least four years’ experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, combined with a patient-centric approach.
  • Legal working rights to work in Australia.
