About Jumeirah

Jumeirah stands as a global leader in luxury hospitality and is part of Dubai Holding. It oversees 29 exceptional properties spanning 11 nations across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. Renowned worldwide since 1999 for redefining luxury, Jumeirah boasts iconic landmarks such as the Burj Al Arab and a diverse portfolio that includes scenic beachfront resorts, prestigious city hotels, and exclusive residences. Destinations range from the modern Maldivian retreat of Jumeirah Olhahali Island to the art-inspired Jumeirah Capri Palace in Italy and the contemporary British elegance of Jumeirah Carlton Tower in London, all celebrated for heartfelt service and distinct guest experiences.

About Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab

Located at the end of a peninsula within Dubai's most prestigious private beach area, Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is the newest lifestyle luxury destination in the city. It offers a resort, exclusive residences, a superyacht marina with 82 berths, a cutting-edge spa and fitness facility, and a variety of curated dining venues. Its avant-garde design, inspired by superyachts, complements the wave-shaped Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the iconic sail-inspired Burj Al Arab.

Role Overview

The Sommelier will champion the Jumeirah brand ethos by delivering first-class wine service, ensuring adherence to beverage standards, and promoting guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include showcasing in-depth wine knowledge to enhance dining experiences, managing and evolving the wine program, overseeing cellar activities, and maintaining a premium wine selection. The role also involves supervising wine operations, liaising with winemakers and suppliers to negotiate contracts, and curating wine lists aligned with luxury hospitality standards.

Additionally, the Sommelier will interact with guests across all food and beverage outlets to assist with wine choices, foster wine culture, and organize events such as tastings and champagne dinners to boost revenue and engagement. Ensuring team competence through training and coaching on product knowledge and service excellence is also vital.

Candidate Profile

The ideal applicant will possess a hospitality college degree or equivalent accredited qualification and have 3 to 5 years of experience in wine service and beverage management within the luxury hospitality sector. Strong communication skills and the ability to work within diverse cultural settings to deliver exceptional guest experiences are essential.
