About the Role

Based in Perth, Western Australia, this senior client-facing position requires transforming disorganized business challenges into impactful data strategies. The Solutions Architect will influence decision-makers by bridging technical possibilities with tangible business benefits, fostering long-term trusted advisory relationships, and ensuring data initiatives deliver measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead discussions with senior stakeholders to clearly identify core business challenges and frame data solutions in commercial terms.
  • Develop complete data solution designs, converting ambiguous requirements into actionable, pragmatic architectures and roadmaps.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and primary contact for client engagements, nurturing relationships to generate account growth and repeat business.
  • Navigate clients through complex data challenges by balancing strategy, governance, and practical delivery considerations.
  • Provide architectural guidance spanning cloud data platforms, underlying infrastructure, and AI/GenAI capabilities.
  • Architect and advise on AI and Generative AI implementations such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), large language models (LLMs), and machine learning pipelines, focusing on real business value and responsible use.
  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure architectures, communicating infrastructure trade-offs in business terms.
  • Mentor and uplift consulting and engineering teams to strengthen alignment between technical execution and business impact.
  • Actively participate in delivering work alongside multidisciplinary teams of AI, IT, data, analytics, and strategy professionals.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Over 5 years in data architecture, consulting, or solution delivery, with significant senior client-facing or advisory exposure.
  • Proven expertise in initiating business value discussions and translating commercial goals into effective data strategies and solutions.
  • Strong track record designing business-focused architectures with clear explanation of trade-offs.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills across executive and technical levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and modern cloud data platform architectures.
  • Practical experience architecting on major public clouds (Azure and/or AWS) including compute, storage, networking, security, and cost management.
  • Operational understanding of AI and GenAI technologies in enterprise settings, with ability to distinguish genuine value from hype.
  • Familiarity with data governance, regulatory compliance, enterprise data strategies, and AI governance and ethics.
  • Experience with data lakehouse architectures handling semi-structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of pipeline, infrastructure, and cost monitoring with business-centric framing.
  • Confidence leading workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and gain consensus.
  • Adaptability and a proactive problem-solving approach in dynamic, ambiguous environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in client account growth and discovery of new business opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of BI and visualization platforms like Tableau and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with modern data warehouse technologies such as Snowflake and Databricks.
  • Experience with ETL orchestration tools including dbt, Matillion, Informatica, or Fivetran.
  • Relevant cloud certifications in Azure or AWS specialties related to solutions, data, or AI.
  • Hands-on involvement in delivering AI/GenAI production systems and supporting data science initiatives.
  • Academic background in computer science, information technology, business, or related fields is beneficial.

Additional Information

This role is strictly located in the Perth office. Remote or telecommuting options outside this area are not available. Salary range will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
