Job description

Role Overview

This contract role is suited to a social-work professional who can apply clinical or macro-level practice knowledge to a research project focused on creating realistic digital work settings and complex task scenarios for training and evaluating advanced intelligent systems. Your practical experience will be used to shape research benchmarks that mirror real-world social-services work.

What You Will Do

  • Develop realistic digital work environments that reflect actual social-services processes, including case documentation, assessments, service plans, referrals, progress reports, and program narratives, while modeling tools such as Salesforce Nonprofit, Apricot (Bonterra), DocuSign, and SharePoint.
  • Create multi-step tasks based on authentic caseloads and organizational workflows, requiring interaction across several applications, documents, and stakeholders.
  • Work asynchronously with other social-work professionals to evaluate scenarios for practical accuracy, realism, and alignment with day-to-day practice.
  • Coordinate with research teams to improve task structure and the criteria used to assess social-services benchmarks.
  • Help advance frontier research by contributing work that shapes how leading labs train and measure next-generation intelligent systems.

Candidate Profile

  • You should be a licensed social-work professional such as an LCSW, LMSW, or an equivalent state-licensed practitioner, with strong preference for substantial full-time experience in a large hospital system, county DHS/DCF, or a major nonprofit or behavioral-health organization.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is relevant: clinical or medical social work, child or adult protective services, case management, school or juvenile-justice social work, macro or policy social work, or substance-use and mental-health program operations.
  • You need practical, hands-on familiarity with systems such as Salesforce Nonprofit, Apricot (Bonterra), DocuSign, and SharePoint or Box.
  • Strong analytical thinking and clear writing are important so you can convert detailed social-work practice into precise, structured task requirements.
  • You must be comfortable working on your own in a remote, asynchronous environment alongside research-focused teams.

Compensation and Work Setup

This is a remote contract engagement. Pay is approximately $850 to $1,000 per completed task, with performance bonuses available and a possible shift to an hourly arrangement for top contributors. Payment is made weekly through Stripe or Wise. The engagement is project-based, part-time, and may be extended.

Application Process

  • Submit your application through the provided easy-apply process.
  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted with the next steps.
