About the Company
Colgate-Palmolive is a global consumer goods company with operations in more than 200 countries. Its portfolio spans oral care, personal care, home care, skin care, and pet nutrition, and its products are used in homes around the world. The company is focused on building a healthier future for people, pets, and the planet through a culture shaped by caring, inclusion, and courage.
Role Overview
Based in Woking, Surrey and reporting into Europe Division Digital Transformation, this position is for a Social Strategist who can shape and lead the division’s social presence across key platforms, with a particular emphasis on TikTok. The role partners closely with marketing, commercial, and hub teams to create and deliver a unified social strategy and content approach that supports business goals, strengthens brand relevance, and helps drive market share across Europe.
This is a hands-on, cross-functional role for someone who is energized by social media, culture, creative innovation, and measurable business impact in a fast-moving environment.
Social Strategy and Execution
- Build and steer the division’s social media plan, prioritizing TikTok as a core growth channel for awareness, engagement, and conversion.
- Improve the creative system, content speed, and overall effectiveness of social output.
- Track new platforms, formats, and trends, then turn those observations into practical actions.
- Work across functions to uncover opportunities and apply strong social best practices that improve commercial outcomes.
- Create and roll out full-funnel approaches that connect social media, social commerce, and e-commerce.
- Own the social content calendar and identify content opportunity areas across European channels.
- Set up performance tracking, analysis, and reporting, and use the findings to recommend improvements.
- Shape community engagement, loyalty initiatives, and partnerships with influencers, creators, and affiliates.
- Use social listening to follow brand, category, industry, and competitor conversations, trends, and sentiment.
- Serve as the key strategic advisor for the division and European hubs on social execution and issue resolution for faster scaling across markets.
- Define and manage regional KPIs that measure social performance and TikTok growth.
Content Development
- Guide the creation and delivery of high-quality social content tailored to each platform while keeping brand standards and legal requirements in place.
- Shape the content framework for a model where discovery and conversion happen together, rather than in separate steps.
- Build scalable content processes so hubs can produce large volumes of native content efficiently with creators, agencies, and partners.
- Coordinate execution with internal creative teams and external agencies.
- Act as the division’s specialist for TikTok content best practices.
- Make sure social plans stay aligned with wider marketing campaigns and brand messaging.
- Spot opportunities to connect social commerce activity with sales goals.
- Develop major campaign ideas, support local adaptation, and share successful approaches across markets.
- Use research, social data, and cross-functional input to develop stronger content.
Qualifications and Experience
The company is looking for a candidate with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline, plus around 7 or more years of experience building and managing social media strategy for a major brand. Strong hands-on success with TikTok and the wider social commerce environment is important.
Applicants should also bring solid knowledge of social platforms, analytics tools, and content management systems, along with an active interest in emerging technologies, content creation, influencer marketing, engagement programs, and AI-driven innovation.
Preferred Strengths
- Experience in a complex, cross-functional, or matrix-style organization.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability, with the skill to turn data into practical recommendations.
- Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills, including confidence with senior stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience with social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, and Emplify.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms such as TikTok Marketscope, Google Analytics, and Meta Insights.
- Working knowledge of TikTok Ads Manager, TikTok Creator Marketplace, and TikTok Seller Center.
