Job description

Role Overview

The Social Media Specialist will oversee marketing activity for the Arizona market, helping build a consistent and high-quality presence across digital channels and supporting event coordination. The position focuses on broadening consumer reach through multiple marketing avenues while working closely with senior leadership to strengthen community visibility and overall brand presence.

Location: Tempe, AZ

Compensation: $50,000 to $52,000 annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization professionally and help strengthen its public image through engagement with business, industry, and community leaders.
  • Plan and coordinate public-facing events, including speaking opportunities and tours of facilities.
  • Draft, review, and distribute press materials and other external communications.
  • Create and publish content for social channels and other online destinations, including LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and industry-specific forums.
  • Prepare and send outreach materials such as holiday cards, magazines, brochures, newsletters, and similar communications.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with media contacts and local civic organizations.
  • Handle additional duties as needed.

Supervisory Scope

This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, including the capacity to write in a clear journalistic style suitable for external publications.
  • Solid interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational habits.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office Suite or similar business software.
  • Well-developed problem-solving, communication, and planning skills.
  • Candidates must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Facility Agent Card, or an equivalent license where required.

Education and Certification

An associate degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a closely related discipline is required.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
  • Work may involve exposure to fluctuating temperatures, humidity, and bright grow lighting.

Work Environment

  • Indoor cultivation setting with controlled environmental conditions.
  • Fast-moving production environment with exposure to cannabis plant material, strong odors, and agricultural chemicals while using required PPE.

No travel is required for this position.
