Job description

About the company

Twilio builds communications technology that helps businesses create personalized customer experiences at scale. The company operates with a remote-first approach and emphasizes global inclusion, collaboration, and impact across distributed teams.

Twilio also uses AI to support an efficient hiring process, while all final hiring decisions are made by real team members.

Role overview

Twilio’s Corporate Communications team is hiring a Social Media Specialist to strengthen community engagement and grow brand visibility. The ideal person is a strong storyteller who can produce original, attention-grabbing content, write with sharpness and clarity, and confidently experiment with bold ideas and short-form video.

Creative, non-traditional resumes are welcomed. Applicants are also asked to submit a draft social post for a chosen channel explaining why they should be selected, or a haiku about what makes content go viral, plus a favorite viral B2B social post from the last six months and the reason for choosing it.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop polished, brand-aligned content that highlights customers, products, and company culture.
  • Run day-to-day activity across social platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and X, while helping introduce TikTok.
  • Support planning and execution of the editorial calendar and campaign work.
  • Oversee the employee advocacy program and equip global and regional teams to share content effectively.
  • Interact with and grow a community that includes developers, consumers, and business decision makers.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on campaign goals, product launches, events, and broader company initiatives.
  • Showcase the value of Twilio’s customer engagement platform through social storytelling.
  • Create engaging content for senior executives.
  • Measure results, analyze performance, and use data to demonstrate growth and impact.
  • Test new approaches regularly to expand reach and engage new audiences.
  • Partner with the Employee Brand team to share Twilion stories with external audiences.

Requirements

  • Experience handling a brand’s social media presence.
  • Ability to express complex ideas in 100 characters or fewer.
  • Comfort with creative thinking and clear presentation of ideas.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to independently drive projects forward.
  • Proven ability to use data to shape social storytelling and show results.
  • Hands-on experience with social and creative tools such as Sprout Social, Canva, Figma, and EveryoneSocial.
  • Interest in community building.
  • Enjoyment of a collaborative, energetic environment.
  • Bonus experience with live video and graphic design.
  • Twilio encourages applicants from varied backgrounds, including those early in their careers or from non-traditional paths.
