Role Summary
SMG is looking for a creative and strategic Social Media Manager passionate about sports storytelling. This role involves managing multiple client accounts, developing impactful social strategies, and producing creative content for diverse markets and sports properties. Collaboration with digital, content, brand partnerships, and PR teams is essential to support commercial goals and audience growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily strategic planning, execution, and management of social media channels across a portfolio of client accounts.
- Create and maintain detailed content calendars aligned with race weekends, campaigns, and commercial priorities.
- Transform brand and partnership goals into engaging platform-specific content ideas, formats, and copy.
- Utilize data and platform insights to analyze performance, optimize strategies, and demonstrate ROI.
- Develop and manage paid media plans and assist in influencer campaign execution.
- Stay abreast of platform updates, industry trends, and audience behaviors to provide innovative ideas.
- Oversee assigned client accounts and provide support across other accounts as needed.
- Coordinate with content production teams to ensure social media needs are considered during asset creation.
- Provide live social coverage during events such as race weekends, adapting content plans in real time.
- Create simple event-related content, including basic editing and capturing, with team guidance.
- Monitor community sentiment and respond to comments and messages, maintaining client brand voice.
- Support pitching and new business activities by contributing social strategy insights and recommendations.
- Communicate proactively with clients regarding planning, performance, and growth opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of SMG’s social media service practices and processes as the team expands.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience managing social media in sports, entertainment, or brand agency environments.
- Thorough understanding of social media culture, audience preferences, and platform engagement patterns across Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Threads.
- Proficiency in using social scheduling, monitoring, and analytics tools.
- Excellent copywriting skills with adaptability for varied client tones and markets.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
- Experience collaborating with creative teams to brief and shape social content assets.
- Proven ability to handle multiple brand accounts simultaneously with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a proactive mindset.
- English fluency and willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and event coverage.
- Genuine enthusiasm for sports, motorsport, and culturally driven content.
- Desirable: Experience working with Formula 1 or motorsport clients; ability to manage live events under pressure; familiarity with paid media and influencer marketing campaigns.
Working Hours and Location
The position is based in the London Bridge area with a hybrid work model, combining office presence and remote working. Working hours are 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM with flexible scheduling options. Candidates should be prepared for variable hours aligned with race calendars and live events.

- Annual salary range: £37,500 to £42,500.
