About Tuckshop
Tuckshop is an investment platform and brand incubator that supports FMCG founders and creators in transforming innovative concepts into successful enterprises. Established by Jamie Laing and Ed Sweet Williams, the team behind Candy Kittens, Tuckshop provides investment, brand-building guidance, and mentorship to emerging FMCG entrepreneurs.
Role Overview
The Community & Social Manager will serve as the vibrant core of Tuckshop's community, both digitally and in face-to-face interactions. This position entails managing social media presence while fostering a genuine network of founders and creators, positioning Tuckshop as the essential community hub for FMCG entrepreneurs.
Daily Responsibilities
- Administer and curate content for Tuckshop’s Instagram and LinkedIn accounts, ensuring messaging remains sharp, founder-focused, and aligned with the Tuckshop voice.
- Increase follower base and engagement by sharing compelling stories from the food and drink startup sector.
- Develop and oversee a WhatsApp group or similar platform to connect food and drink founders.
- Organize and host supper clubs, events, and meet-ups to strengthen community bonds offline.
- Deliver meaningful value to community members through introductions, guidance, and shared learnings, cultivating a dependable resource beyond casual communication.
- Engage with each Tuckshop investment to ensure founders feel connected and supported, fostering community belonging and championing their progress.
- Serve as an approachable and consistent liaison between Tuckshop and its supported founders.
- Manage Tuckshop’s brand presence, working towards increasing visibility and recognition within relevant spaces.
Candidate Profile
- Passionate about FMCG startups, including founder dynamics, industry trends, and the startup culture.
- Enjoys building and nurturing communities, finding satisfaction in connecting people.
- Proficient in social media management, including copywriting and comfortable with content creation (behind or in front of the camera).
- Organized and capable of managing communications (e.g., WhatsApp groups) and event schedules efficiently.
- Personable, warm, and genuinely inquisitive about other entrepreneurs' businesses.
- Proactive and self-driven, able to take a clear goal and develop it independently.
Purpose of the Role
When executed effectively, this role will position Tuckshop as a prime knowledge resource for UK FMCG startups — the first choice for founders seeking advice, networking, or support, coalescing this community through social media and curated events.
