Job description
About the Role
Roku is hiring a Social Media Manager for This Old House to own the daily running and expansion of social media across multiple platforms. As the team moves away from an agency-led setup to an in-house model, this position will play a key part in creating a faster, more content-led social presence that works closely with editorial and production.
The role covers the social channels for This Old House, Ask This Old House, and related franchise properties. The selected candidate will plan, create, schedule, and publish content, coordinate shoots, and turn moments from production into social-first assets that perform well across platforms.
Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and its mission is to connect the full TV ecosystem. The company works with consumers, content publishers, and advertisers to support streaming experiences at scale.
This role is based in Concord, MA, with an in-office schedule Monday through Thursday and the flexibility to work from home on Friday.
The estimated annual base pay for this position is between $110,000 and $117,000, plus equity. Final compensation depends on factors such as skills, certifications, and geographic location.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead social media planning and execution to increase audience size, engagement, and video views.
- Produce and share social content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Pinterest, and other emerging channels.
- Own the social content calendar, including planning, scheduling, and performance-aware post optimization across several brand and franchise accounts.
- Manage more than 40 social profiles across brand, show, and talent accounts while keeping operations organized and consistent.
- Join pre-production discussions, content planning sessions, and shoot days to spot opportunities for social-first content.
- Plan and carry out social shoots, with and without talent, alongside production teams.
- Work with an editor/content creator to develop short-form video and platform-tailored content.
- Adapt content for each platform based on format requirements, trends, and audience performance.
- Help promote affiliate and commerce content through social channels.
- Collaborate with marketing on paid social activity, including boosting and performance tuning.
- Coordinate organic and paid efforts to improve reach, engagement, and traffic.
- Review comments, direct messages, and audience interactions, and support day-to-day community management.
- Measure and report on core social metrics such as growth, engagement, video results, and traffic.
- Use performance data to continuously improve content strategy and results.
- Partner with production, editorial, marketing, and ad sales teams on launches, campaigns, and ongoing programming.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in social media marketing, content creation, or digital media.
- Strong understanding of short-form video, platform-native storytelling, and the factors that drive social performance.
- Background in content-led environments, preferably in media, entertainment, or production.
- Experience supporting social campaigns, including work with content partners or influencers.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple workflows, calendars, and deadlines.
- Comfort operating in fast-moving, production-heavy environments and adjusting quickly to changing priorities.
- Analytical approach with experience using data to guide decisions and improve outcomes.
- Working knowledge of paid social, including setup, execution, and basic optimization.
- Clear communication skills and a concise writing style.
- Strong judgment, close attention to detail, and familiarity with social media best practices and ethics.
