Role Overview
The Social Media Executive will take charge of the organization’s social presence, plan and produce engaging digital content, and contribute to wider marketing efforts. This position calls for a creative, detail-driven professional who can increase audience engagement, strengthen brand visibility, and keep messaging consistent across platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, write, and publish appealing social content for Ubuntu Café, Ubuntu Water, Ubuntu MADE, and the Ubuntu Life Foundation.
- Build and maintain an organized content calendar that supports brand objectives and campaign timelines.
- Produce strong visual assets, including photography and video, for use across digital channels.
- Handle day-to-day social media activity such as posting, audience interaction, and community engagement.
- Assist with promotional activity, product campaigns, and launch support.
- Review performance data, audience behavior, and emerging trends to improve content effectiveness and engagement.
- Observe brand conversations, competitor activity, and sector trends to guide content planning.
- Work closely with internal departments to ensure unified branding and compelling storytelling across the organization.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business, or a related discipline.
- Between 3 and 4 years of experience managing social media platforms.
- Solid skills in photography, videography, and editing.
- Hands-on experience with content creation tools such as Canva, Adobe Suite, and CapCut.
- Strong creativity with excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and spoken communication abilities, along with strong storytelling skills.
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Good understanding of major social platforms and related tools.
- Basic ability to interpret social media analytics and prepare reports.
