Role Overview
This position focuses on the personal brand of founder and CEO Emily Lyons rather than the company brand itself. The Social Media Director will be responsible for turning Emily into a widely recognized name across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, managing her channels end to end and transforming her story into audience growth.
Emily’s background includes starting her first business with $80 and a grade 10 education, spending 12 years as a matchmaker to elite clientele, building three companies, earning the title of Entrepreneur of the Year, and navigating a life marked by recovery, major loss, and resilience. A book, podcast, and further media opportunities are planned, and the role calls for someone who can turn that story into compelling content and reach.
Key Responsibilities
This is a full-time remote opportunity. The selected candidate will own the full social content process and be accountable for results.
- Refresh Emily’s personal social presence, including her visual identity, tone of voice, and overall positioning.
- Run the content workflow from concept to publication, including ideas, scripts, shoot direction, editing, posting, and audience engagement.
- Build a platform-specific growth plan for each channel instead of recycling the same content everywhere.
- Convert the reality of a busy founder’s schedule into a consistent and effective content pipeline.
- Monitor analytics closely and make quick, informed adjustments based on performance.
- Represent a public-facing personality with tact, sound judgment, and a high level of discretion.
Candidate Profile
This is not a role for someone who simply schedules posts or maintains an existing account. The company is looking for someone who has already taken a person or brand from low visibility to meaningful recognition and can demonstrate the results.
- Direct experience growing social accounts to several hundred thousand followers, with clear evidence of the accounts and outcomes.
- Proven ability to build a brand from scratch rather than only managing an existing one.
- Deep working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, including what currently performs well on each platform.
- Capability across both strategy and execution, including positioning, hook development, shooting guidance, and video editing.
- Confidence directing on-camera talent, including a strong-willed CEO, and improving performance on camera.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the maturity to represent a premium and discreet brand.
- Prior experience supporting founders, personal brands, or public figures is strongly preferred.
- A fast-moving, accountable self-starter who can operate without close supervision.
