Job description
About the Role
Dear Media is hiring a Social Media Coordinator to join the Content team in the New York office. This role is best suited for someone who thinks in social-first terms, pays close attention to detail, and enjoys working closely with a team. You should be comfortable jumping in on content shoots, doing light video edits, and handling whatever support is needed to keep the social operation moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Content Manager to keep Dear Media’s social channels active day to day by scheduling and publishing posts, drafting captions, doing basic video edits for original brand series, and capturing content in the office.
- Contribute to content brainstorming and visual direction by suggesting fresh ideas and collaborating with design and production teams to bring them to life.
- Turn long-form Dear Media show content into short, engaging, platform-ready social clips while preserving the brand’s voice and tone.
- Help with content production shoots, including setup and filming talent in the New York studio.
- Assist with community engagement by tracking and responding to comments and direct messages.
- Keep an eye on social media trends, competitor activity, and platform changes, then share useful takeaways with the team.
- Provide support with general team tasks and administrative needs as they come up.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1-2+ years of practical experience managing social media accounts.
- Strong understanding of what performs well on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and emerging social platforms.
- Hands-on experience using social analytics and management tools such as Dash Social and Iconosquare.
- Comfort working from a social media calendar in tools like Google Sheets, Asana, or Dash Social.
- Ability to capture iPhone-style content and edit short-form vertical video.
- Professional, polished presence when working around well-known talent.
- Solid awareness of trends and the elements that make social content engaging.
- Confidence in presenting creative concepts and growth-focused ideas to the team.
- Preferred: familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Preferred: basic graphic design ability using Photoshop or Canva.
Compensation and Benefits
Dear Media states that it provides competitive pay and employee benefits, with compensation based on the local market, the role’s responsibilities, and the candidate’s experience and skills. The company also offers parental and family leave, plus comprehensive health and dental coverage for employees.
Equal Opportunity Statement
