Role overview
The Social Media Coordinator supports community management, content calendar development, in-house social content creation, and day-to-day social strategy execution. This role partners closely with strategy and content teams to keep the brand voice consistent and to create social assets that fit the wider client plan. The ideal candidate is highly comfortable working across social platforms, quick to solve problems, and effective in a busy, fast-moving environment.
Core responsibilities
- Work with content and strategy teams to develop ideas for content proposals, short-form videos, edits, and other multimedia deliverables.
- Join brainstorming sessions, internal meetings, and strategy conversations.
- Plan and maintain monthly content calendars and toolkits, keeping copy, creative assets, links, and campaign details accurate and client-ready.
- Prepare client content proposals by entering content pillars, marketing priorities, product priorities, strategy direction, and swipe references that visually support the creative concept.
- Research trends and audience preferences on an ongoing basis to guide content decisions.
- Review content performance data and identify opportunities to improve results.
- Stay current on industry shifts, best practices, new tools, platform changes, and algorithm updates to improve workflows and strategy.
- Support client social media channels across platforms such as Facebook, X, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat.
- Draft social copy for the appropriate channels and help shape client voice and tone.
- Schedule and publish posts through scheduling tools and native in-app publishing features.
- Track comments, messages, engagement, and trend activity, and respond in a timely way.
- Collaborate across teams to provide insights into community behavior.
- Support influencer and creator outreach and coordination.
- Convert cultural trends and consumer insights into creative concepts.
- Assist the analytics team with research and competitive analysis across social platforms.
- Compile performance metrics and prepare recurring reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Manage the administrative workflow for regulated content submissions, including organizing, preparing, and submitting copy and assets for medical, legal, and regulatory review while maintaining accuracy, timing, and compliance.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of overall experience in social media and/or digital marketing for brands.
- Strong working knowledge of social platforms such as Meta, X, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, and Snapchat, including how each can be used in different situations.
- Professional communication skills in both written and spoken formats.
- Excellent writing, speaking, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Strong organization and time management abilities, with the capacity to juggle several projects at once.
- Genuine interest in social media, digital marketing, and current industry trends; naturally curious and digitally engaged.
- Strong appreciation for calendar management, structure, and detail accuracy.
- Ability to think both creatively and strategically.
- Awareness of the trends influencing consumer behavior now and in the future.
- Comfortable solving problems with the resources available.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while adjusting to shifting priorities.
- Working knowledge of current iPhone apps, including photo editing, productivity, social networking, and lifestyle apps.
- Familiarity with Google Suite, Asana, and Slack.
- Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, or video editing is a plus.
Additional information
This position reports to the Account Strategist / SVP, Client Services. It is geared toward junior to mid-level candidates. Career growth may lead to Social Media Manager or Social Media Director, with possible movement into strategy, creative, or paid media roles. The listed salary range is $65K to $75K. The work sits within marketing and advertising, with exposure to fashion, beauty, and lifestyle clients.
New hire expectations
Within 1 month: The new hire will be introduced to the Strategy, Creative, Accounts, and Media teams, gain a full view of the agency, learn the responsibilities of each department and team member, complete workflow/process training, and begin coordinating the handoff of duties with the Strategy and Content teams.
Within 3 months: The new hire should be able to build client calendars to deadline, schedule and publish content across platforms, oversee community management, and support the Strategy and Content teams.
Within 6 months: The new hire should independently plan, manage, organize, and publish content; build content calendars on time and without errors; refine and document workflows; and create position procedures along with turnkey training materials.
