Job description
Role overview
Googipet is looking for a part-time social media creator who can build engaging short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. This is a remote-friendly position, with a preference for candidates based near Chicago, Illinois so they can participate in occasional filming sessions with dogs. The role is expected to take around 10 to 15 hours each week and is paid, with product included as an additional benefit. The position reports to the co-founder, Michael.
The company asks that applicants have a dog of their own.
About the company
Googipet is a family-run dog wellness brand founded in 2020 by three brothers for their own pets. Its flagship 10-in-1 daily multivitamin chew is used by more than 100,000 dogs and is formulated by a PhD, certified by NASC, and manufactured in the United States. The brand is expanding quickly across TikTok, Amazon, and its own website, with short-form video serving as a major growth channel.
What the job involves
You will take ownership of the brand’s everyday short-form content production. The job centers on creating videos that grab attention quickly, capturing trends as they emerge, and featuring real dogs, real customers, and real product experiences. You’ll also help keep conversations active in the comments and direct messages.
Core responsibilities
- Plan, film, and edit 1 to 2 short-form videos each day, mainly using a phone and tools like CapCut or similar apps.
- Come up with hooks and video ideas based on existing content themes and trending formats.
- Work with a library of real dogs, owners, and customer reviews to create authentic content.
- Manage community engagement by responding to comments and DMs and identifying audience questions that can become new content.
- Monitor emerging trends and sounds and adapt them quickly for Googipet’s social channels.
- Sort, label, and organize customer-submitted user-generated content.
- Review performance signals such as saves, shares, watch time, and sales, then refine content based on what performs best.
What they are looking for
- You should already understand TikTok culture and have a strong sense of what content is working right now.
- You need to be able to create and edit short videos independently and efficiently, with a good eye for quality.
- A genuine love for dogs is essential.
- You should be resourceful, dependable, and able to work quickly without constant supervision.
Preferred qualifications
- Comfort in front of the camera, or the ability to direct dogs and owners effectively on camera.
- Previous experience creating content for a brand, as a creator, or as user-generated content.
- Basic understanding of graphics or thumbnail design.
Working approach and brand rules
The brand follows strict content guidelines. Testimonials must be real, reviewers cannot be fabricated, and medical claims are not allowed. For example, the product may be described as supporting joints, but it should never be presented as curing anything. A one-page guide will be provided to explain exactly what can and cannot be said. Honest communication is considered part of the brand identity.
Application instructions
To apply, candidates should send a short note explaining why they love dogs and why they want to work with Googipet, links to short-form content they have created on any platform, and a 15 to 30 second mock TikTok that they would genuinely post for the brand. A rough version is acceptable; the company is prioritizing instinct over production value.
Additional details
This role is described as part-time and internship-like in structure, with paid work and approximately 10 to 15 hours per week. The pay was not fixed in the source text and was indicated as a set hourly rate or monthly stipend plus product, but no exact amount was provided.
