About The Royal Air Force Museum

The Royal Air Force Museum is a national institution operating as a Government non-departmental public body and registered charity. It maintains two public locations in the Midlands and London, along with a stored collection in Stafford. The Museum's mission is to share the story of the RAF — past, present, and future — through its people and collections to engage, inform, and inspire audiences.

Our vision is to inspire everyone with the RAF story, highlighting the individuals who shape it and its significance.

The Museum is committed to key values, including Health and Wellbeing, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Sustainability, which underpin all our work.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Social Media and Content Executive to join our Midlands team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role involves supporting the Museum's Digital Marketing and Social Media Strategy by contributing to content creation, managing social media channels, engaging with audiences, running campaigns, and producing analytics reports to enhance our online presence and visitor interaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing and scheduling engaging social media posts across various platforms
  • Assisting with digital marketing campaigns and event promotion
  • Managing online communities and fostering audience engagement
  • Providing photography and videography support for content creation
  • Monitoring social media performance and producing analytics reports
  • Supporting broader marketing and commercial initiatives

Candidate Requirements

  • At least 18 months of experience in social media content creation
  • Strong communication skills with a solid grasp of digital marketing principles
  • Proficiency in photography and videography techniques
  • Ability to engage and grow online audiences effectively
  • Organized, adaptable, and comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

  • Position is based at the Museum's Midlands site
  • May require occasional evening and weekend hours to support events, campaigns, and content capture
  • Applications close on 5 August 2026, with interviews scheduled for 14 August 2026
  • Annual salary range: £28,000 to £29,000

Invitation

If you are passionate about storytelling and digital engagement and eager to contribute to preserving and sharing the RAF’s legacy, we encourage you to apply and join us in this exciting endeavor to inspire future generations.
