Social Care Worker - Disability Services at Cali Centres

About the Role

This opportunity is open for both HSE and non-HSE applicants. The position is for a permanent full-time Social Care Worker based in Newtownmountkennedy, County Wicklow. The role is offered by Cali Centres on behalf of a publicly funded organisation under Section 39 with different terms and conditions from the HSE. The role focuses on delivering person-centred and rights-based services to individuals with disabilities, particularly those with severe to profound intellectual disabilities and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and regularly review Person-Centred Plans (PCPs) to support personal goal setting and outcome tracking for individuals supported.
• Implement and promote evidence-based and innovative support practices, including research contributions and curriculum development.
• Support individuals in enhancing communication, independence, and participation in community life.
• Collaborate effectively with families, therapists, multidisciplinary teams, and other professionals to achieve meaningful outcomes.
• Facilitate social role development, natural supports, and community connections for individuals.
• Maintain excellent documentation and communication, including report writing.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Social Care or equivalent qualification recognized by CORU.
• Current CORU registration.
• At least two years of experience in disability service provision.
• Experience working with individuals with severe to profound intellectual disabilities and complex support requirements.
• Proven skills in Person-Centred Planning and Key Working.
• Comprehensive understanding of New Directions, Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, safeguarding vulnerable adults, positive behaviour support, human rights, advocacy, risk management, and community inclusion.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Valid full clean manual driving licence.

Desirable Experience

• Background in education, training, or teaching.
• Experience supporting learning and skills development programs.
• Familiarity with communication aids such as PECS, Lámh, and AAC.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and supporting complex communication needs.
