About the Role
KPMG Assurance and Consulting Services LLP in Bangalore is seeking an experienced SOC Operations Analyst specializing in Google SecOps (Chronicle). This role involves responsibilities spanning security monitoring, incident detection and response, threat hunting, and detection engineering within a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be part of a team ensuring high standards in cybersecurity operations and continuous enhancement of detection capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee security event management using Google SecOps (Chronicle) platform, including log onboarding and data normalization.
- Develop, optimize, and tune detection alerts, YARA-L rules, and dashboards to improve monitoring effectiveness.
- Investigate and triage security incidents, applying remediation and response procedures promptly.
- Maintain continuous SOC operations monitoring 24/7, performing root cause analyses and documenting incident findings.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, frameworks, and service level agreements (SLAs).
- Design and refine use cases for threat detection, creating correlation rules to reduce false positives and maximize coverage.
- Conduct proactive threat hunts leveraging telemetry data, endpoint detection response (EDR), and network logs to identify advanced threats and indicators of compromise.
- Collaborate closely with incident response and security engineering teams to enhance overall security posture.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in cybersecurity operations, focusing on threat intelligence, incident response, and Google SecOps (Chronicle) platform management.
- Proficiency with SIEM tools and threat intelligence platforms.
- Strong skills in threat hunting, detection engineering, and use case development.
- Experience in crafting and maintaining YARA-L detection rules.
- Ability to work across a 24x7 SOC environment and handle high-priority incident response activities.
- Excellent communication skills with a methodical approach to incident documentation and reporting.
