Role overview
This position is for a Site Incharge responsible for solar operations and maintenance activities in Gujarat, Telangana, Bihar, and Jharkhand, with the site based in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The role calls for a seasoned professional with 7 to 10 years of experience in solar O&M, and it is important that the candidate has managed a solar plant of at least 50 MW capacity. Prior exposure to electrical equipment testing and commissioning is an advantage.
Key responsibilities
- Keep a close watch on the day-to-day performance of all electrical assets at the site.
- Maintain all required site records and reports in line with operational needs.
- Oversee and coordinate subcontractor activities.
- Conduct regular training sessions for team members to support their growth and effectiveness.
- Manage stores and spare parts efficiently.
- Plan, schedule, and carry out preventive maintenance activities on time.
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and restore equipment within minimal downtime.
- Arrange annual testing of electrical equipment.
- Submit operational updates to the Project Manager, including DGR, maintenance, and breakdown/root cause analysis reports.
- Support implementation and upkeep of the Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with EHS requirements at all times.
- Follow all O&M manual requirements and site procedures.
- Protect equipment warranty and guarantee obligations.
- Track and support contractual KPIs such as generation and PR.
- Coordinate effectively with internal teams such as reporting managers, supply chain, finance and accounts, and engineering, as well as external parties including the client, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Serve as the Site Incharge and take ownership of overall site operations.
- Lead a team of 15 or more engineers and technicians.
- Apply strong technical understanding of electrical equipment operation and maintenance practices.
- Use planning and organization skills to manage solar plant maintenance activities.
- Handle site budgeting responsibilities.
- Understand and work in line with O&M contract terms and conditions.
Experience required
The role requires 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in solar operation and maintenance. Experience with testing and commissioning of electrical equipment is preferred.
