Project Overview

We are recruiting experienced Site Engineers across multiple engineering disciplines to support a large greenfield Oil & Gas infrastructure development in Paradip, Odisha. This project involves constructing a Petroleum Oil Terminal and associated piggable pipeline infrastructure. The positions are contract-based with an emphasis on full-time onsite presence at the Paradip location for overseeing subcontractor activities, ensuring quality standards, and liaising with key stakeholders.

General Responsibilities

  • Supervise subcontractor daily activities, monitor schedule adherence, assess performance, and address any execution challenges on site.
  • Maintain comprehensive records including daily site logs and progress reports to facilitate billing and measurement certifications.
  • Manage laydown yards and verify the receipt, storage, and preservation of critical free-issue or contractor-supplied materials and equipment.
  • Review and approve subcontractors' Quality Assurance and Inspection & Test Plans to uphold quality controls.
  • Oversee field testing and Non-Destructive Testing procedures, granting approvals as necessary.
  • Coordinate with clients and inspectors during site reviews, audits, and routine inspections.
  • Collaborate closely across disciplines to resolve construction sequencing and physical interface challenges.
  • Support Resident Construction Manager and clients in engagements with third-party inspection agencies and government bodies including pollution control, port authorities, and electricity boards.

Discipline-Specific Qualifications & Responsibilities

Safety, Planning & Monitoring Engineer

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering plus postgraduate qualification or certification in Industrial Safety.
  • Minimum 10 years’ overall site engineering experience with at least 5 years in HSE supervisory roles on large industrial or construction projects.
  • Skilled in interpreting plot plans, fire/gas detector mappings, evacuation routes, and hazardous area zoning.
  • Expertise in evaluating safety documents including Method Statements and Job Safety Analyses to ensure correct hazardous zone management and emergency planning according to PESO, OISD, and PNGRB standards.
  • Lead on-site HSE compliance, conducting hazard identification, risk assessments, monitoring toolbox talks, and permit-to-work protocols.
  • Oversee environmental protections such as waste management and soil erosion controls onsite.

Civil Site Engineer

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in site engineering for civil and industrial construction projects; preference given to Oil & Gas sector experience.
  • Proficiency with Indian Standard codes, concrete technologies, and constructing heavy industrial foundations.
  • Experience in interpreting complex IFC drawings, plot plans, and piping layouts.
  • Responsible for managing earthworks, piling, foundations, pipe racks, roads, drainage, and terminal building infrastructure.

Mechanical Site Engineer

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of site experience in mechanical or industrial engineering projects, preferably Oil & Gas.
  • Expertise in piping systems, tank fabrication adhering to API 620/650, pipeline welding, and construction.
  • Skilled with P&IDs, piping isometrics (ASME B31.3/B31.4), general arrangement drawings, and tank erection layouts.
  • Conduct cross-checking of isometric drawings with physical pipe spools, support/hanger placements, validate material certificates, and oversee weld mapping prior to hydrotests.
  • Supervise construction of storage tanks, piggable pipelines, pumps, manifolds, valves, and related equipment.

Electrical / Instrumentation Site Engineer

  • B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on industrial electrical projects with Oil & Gas sector preferred.
  • Familiarity with large-scale electrical systems, hazardous area standards, and OISD guidelines.
  • Experienced in interpreting single-line diagrams, cable trench layouts, hazardous area classifications, and substation equipment arrangements.
  • Ability to validate motor control center schematic wirings, earthing systems, and review loop diagrams for commissioning.
  • Manage substation construction, transformer installations, high/low voltage cabling, hazardous lighting, and cathodic protection systems.

Additional Information

This position is a full-time site-based contract role located in Paradip, Odisha, lasting two years, reporting to the Resident Construction Manager or Project Manager. Candidates must be capable of directly managing site operations and cooperating across multiple engineering disciplines while ensuring compliance with statutory and project-specific safety, quality, and environmental policies.
