Job description
Role overview
The creator is hiring a short-form video editor to support a YouTube coaching channel focused on helping creators grow on YouTube. The plan is to publish short videos every day, using a talking-head and educational presentation style. The content is meant to attract viewers into longer videos first and, from there, convert a small portion into one-on-one coaching clients.
Creative direction
The editing style should take inspiration from Ali Abdaal as a loose reference point, while staying less polished overall and adding more humor. A second channel is mentioned as a place to review more existing content and better understand the preferred direction.
What you will edit
- Talking-head footage of the creator speaking directly to camera
- Short videos in the 30 to 60 second range
- Content intended for daily output, at least initially
Editing expectations
- Tight trimming and smooth pacing
- Captions or subtitles matched accurately to the spoken audio
- Motion graphics or image overlays when they add value
- A consistent visual treatment across all videos
What the creator is looking for
- Background editing short-form content in a similar space, such as YouTube Shorts, Reels, or TikTok
- Ability to deliver quickly, ideally the same day or the next day
- Clear communication throughout the working process
- Willingness to follow direction and refine the output over time
Application notes
Applicants are asked to share their expected price per video, include a sample that is closest in style to the desired result, and state their typical turnaround time per edit. If there is a good fit, a paid trial edit may be offered before moving forward.
