Role Overview

Join a leading international maritime and logistics group based in Dubai as a Shipping Business Process Specialist. This position is critical for managing a key operational system rollout across the company's shipping agency offices, primarily located in Africa. The role involves mastering a bespoke shipping agency software, facilitating its deployment, and training staff on new workflows to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal business liaison for the deployment of a new operational system within the group's shipping agency entities.
• Gain proficiency in the custom shipping software and oversee its introduction across multiple African locations.
• Provide comprehensive training to staff on updated processes, standard operating procedures, and software usage.
• Examine current workflow procedures, detect inefficiencies, and suggest actionable improvements to optimize operations and service quality.
• Create and update detailed process maps, operational workflows, and relevant documentation.
• Collaborate with department heads, operational teams, external vendors, and technology partners to facilitate smooth implementation and manage change effectively.
• Conduct periodic process audits, track performance metrics, and deliver insightful recommendations for ongoing enhancements.
• Maintain detailed records regarding the system implementation status, procedural adjustments, potential risks, and initiatives for improvement.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum of three years' experience in the maritime sector, particularly within shipping port agencies.
• Strong understanding of shipping agency operations applicable to reviewing and improving workflows.
• Proven ability to deliver training, communicate processes clearly, and support teams in adapting to operational changes.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to African offices to ensure successful software rollouts and support.
• Capacity to work autonomously, with excellent multicultural communication skills and ability to foster collaborative relationships across functions and locations.
• Experience in business process management, operational improvement, process mapping, or workflow enhancement.
• Educational background includes relevant degrees or diplomas such as business administration, operations management, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or mathematical finance.
• No prior technical IT skills required; the customized software will be learned upon joining. Analytical or coding skills are beneficial, especially when working with port tariff calculations.
