Role Overview
The Ship Agency Officer will oversee the day-to-day coordination and financial handling of shipping agency activities across the globe for the LNG Shipping Department within the QatarEnergy Marketing Directorate. The role also contributes to bunker-related commercial and financial work, with the aim of ensuring bunker procurement and port call arrangements are completed on time, in compliance with requirements, and in a cost-effective manner.
Experience and Skills
The position calls for at least 8 years of relevant industry experience, along with a strong working knowledge of financial processes and contract administration. The successful candidate should be comfortable using English in both written and spoken communication.
Strong analytical ability is essential, as well as advanced computer proficiency, particularly in MS Excel for modelling and operational work, MS Word, and SAP. High attention to detail is also important. The role requires someone who can perform effectively under pressure, work across different teams, and communicate smoothly with both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Shipping, or a related discipline is required.
