Job description
Overview
Shell is offering a 3-year graduate programme in Qatar aimed at building the next generation of leaders. Based in Doha, this opportunity places you within one of the country’s major foreign investors, with exposure to large-scale energy work, including the Pearl GTL facility, which is recognised as the world’s largest gas-to-liquids plant.
The programme is structured to strengthen your leadership potential through practical experience, formal learning, job rotations, and one-to-one coaching. You will be part of an inclusive, collaborative setting where new graduates are encouraged to contribute from the beginning and develop through meaningful work.
What you will do
In this role, you will be expected to assess situations carefully, identify practical solutions that support business priorities, and adapt to shifting environments. You will work closely with colleagues from different backgrounds, bring fresh thinking to energy-related challenges, and build productive working relationships across teams.
You will also gain hands-on exposure to projects that matter, supported by experienced professionals who will help you grow your technical and professional capability.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate is curious, resilient, and comfortable taking on new challenges. You should be able to absorb information quickly, think through problems objectively, and come up with original ideas. The role calls for someone who can work well with others, influence through credibility, stay open to different viewpoints, and use feedback to improve outcomes.
Eligibility
- You must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, with a focus on Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial & Systems Engineering.
- Applicants must be Qatari nationals.
- You should be willing to work in Ras Lafan (RLC).
- You must either be a recent graduate from the 2024/2025 academic year, or be due to graduate in 2026 from the 2025/2026 academic year and currently not be sponsored.
- Alternatively, candidates with less than 3 years of experience in the energy sector may also be considered, in line with industry recruitment guidelines.
What Shell offers
The programme offers a competitive starting salary with annual increases linked to performance. It also includes financial and health benefits, paid time off, career opportunities across local and international teams, and access to a broad range of training and development resources.
Additional support may include mental health programmes, counselling services, and community groups. Shell also highlights its commitment to building a more diverse and inclusive workforce and welcomes applicants of all genders, ages, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, sexual orientations, and life experiences.
