Job description

Role overview

Shell is offering a 3-year graduate programme in Australia aimed at preparing future leaders through structured development. The position is for a Graduate Maintenance Engineer in Perth, Western Australia, with a planned commencement date of 15 February 2027. This opportunity is intended for candidates with degrees in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.

The programme is designed to strengthen your leadership potential through a blend of practical work experience, classroom-based learning, role rotations, and tailored coaching.

What you will do

In this role, you will help address energy-related challenges by contributing new ideas, working on meaningful assignments, and learning from experienced professionals. You will be expected to assess situations carefully, suggest solutions that support business priorities, and adapt well to changing circumstances.

You will also work collaboratively with a varied team, build strong working relationships, and bring a fresh perspective to the projects you join from the outset.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and eager to take on new challenges. You should be comfortable learning quickly, solving problems objectively, making sound decisions, and developing original ideas. Strong resilience, initiative, and the ability to work well with others are important, as is the confidence to influence people through credibility and openness to different viewpoints.

Eligibility

To be considered for this graduate programme, you must hold Australian permanent residency or citizenship when you apply. You should either be in your final year of study or have less than 3 years of work experience in your chosen discipline. Candidates also need to be available to begin a full-time permanent role in February 2027. An academic transcript must be included with the application so the team can review the subjects you have studied.
