Job description

About the Programme

Shell Qatar is hiring graduates for a structured 3-year development journey aimed at building the next generation of leaders. The role is based in Qatar, where Shell is among the country’s biggest international investors and operates Pearl GTL, recognized as the world’s largest gas-to-liquids facility. As a participant, you will contribute to highly innovative energy projects in a fast-moving and collaborative setting.

The programme is designed to strengthen leadership capability through practical workplace learning, formal learning opportunities, job rotations, and one-to-one coaching. From the outset, you will be involved in meaningful work and supported by experienced professionals in an inclusive environment.

What You Will Do

You will be expected to assess situations carefully, suggest practical solutions that support business objectives, and adapt well to changing priorities. The role calls for a strong learning attitude, a results-focused approach, and the ability to build effective working relationships within a diverse team.

Working alongside seasoned colleagues, you will contribute fresh thinking and a new perspective to energy-related challenges. Shell’s collaborative culture is intended to help you grow while taking on impactful responsibilities early in the programme.

What the Role Requires

The ideal candidate is curious, open to innovation, and comfortable working through complex information. You should be able to analyse problems, make sound judgments, and generate original ideas. Strong resilience, ambition, flexibility, and the ability to influence others are also important. Being receptive to different viewpoints and using them to improve outcomes is a key part of the role.

Eligibility

  • You must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial & Systems Engineering.
  • Only Qatari nationals are eligible.
  • You should be willing to work in Ras Laffan (RLC), Qatar.
  • Applicants must either be recent graduates from the 2024/2025 academic year or expected to graduate during 2026 in the 2025/2026 academic year and not currently sponsored, or have less than 3 years of experience in the energy sector in line with industry hiring guidelines.

What Shell Offers

  • A competitive starting pay package with annual performance-based salary growth.
  • Financial support and healthcare benefits for you and your family.
  • Paid time off and other options that support work-life balance.
  • Opportunities to build a career across national and international teams.
  • Access to a wide range of learning, training, and development programmes.
  • Mental health support, counselling, and community-based support networks.
  • An inclusive workplace that welcomes people of all genders, ages, ethnicities, cultures, abilities, sexual orientations, and life experiences.
