About EY and the Opportunity

EY is committed to empowering your career and shaping a better working world through collaboration across diverse, globally connected teams. Our goal is to be the foremost ServiceNow partner in Oceania, driving AI-powered business transformation. We assist organisations in overcoming complex transformation challenges by combining deep ServiceNow knowledge with expertise in business design, organisational change, cyber, risk, and assurance.

As a Senior Consultant within our expanding ServiceNow division, you will contribute to delivering innovative digital solutions for leading New Zealand and Australian companies. The role entails working on a variety of ServiceNow workflows and industries, translating business needs into scalable platform solutions, collaborating with architects and consultants across local and offshore teams, and playing a key role in complex transformation projects.

This position offers a mix of technical delivery and client engagement, with opportunities to expand your ServiceNow expertise and advance your consulting career. The role is based onsite in Auckland or Wellington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions throughout entire project lifecycles, spanning requirements elicitation, solution architecture, development, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
  • Engage with clients to gather and translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable, and user-focused ServiceNow applications.
  • Develop software using ServiceNow technologies such as JavaScript/Glide scripting, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, REST and SOAP APIs, UI Builder, and Service Portal.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, offering technical expertise and strategic advice to architects, functional consultants, and delivery managers.
  • Maintain and improve platform health by supporting upgrades, conducting health assessments, and enforcing industry best practices with a preference for out-of-the-box-first solutions.
  • Foster trusted client partnerships through consistent guidance, knowledge sharing, and comprehensive support during project delivery.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members including consultants, graduates, and interns, nurturing skills development and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead client training sessions and knowledge-transfer activities to enable clients to fully leverage their ServiceNow investments.
  • Stay informed about the latest ServiceNow platform advancements, including AI and automation features, and industry trends.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum four years’ practical experience with ServiceNow implementation projects in roles such as Technical Consultant or Developer.
  • Proficient in configuring and managing the ServiceNow platform with solid knowledge of core elements like Access Control Lists (ACLs), business rules, client scripts, update sets, integrations, and data management.
  • Must hold the ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) credential; holding Certified Application Developer (CAD) and/or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) certifications is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing and managing integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, OAuth, and similar technologies.
  • Experience handling data migration and transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with one or more ServiceNow applications such as IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Operations Management (ITOM), Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD), Customer Service Management (CSM), Professional Services Delivery (PSDS), Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), Integrated Risk Management (IRM)/Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), or Security Operations (SecOps).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in dispersed teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, capable of engaging clients and clarifying complex technical ideas to stakeholders without technical background.
  • A genuine passion for continuous learning, keeping pace with ServiceNow platform innovations, including artificial intelligence and automation enhancements.

What EY Offers

  • Personalised career development designed to build future-ready skills and provide exceptional professional opportunities.
  • Flexible work arrangements fostering a balance between professional and personal life within a culture of trust and autonomy.
  • Comprehensive benefits including annual wellness incentives, additional flexible leave, and family-friendly provisions such as up to 26 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave to support diverse employee needs.
