Service Technician - Renewable Energy (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic)

Work Environment and Locations

• Positions located across regional Australia, including areas in WA, SA, VIC, NSW, QLD, and TAS.
• This role requires residing in the specified regional area and is not a FIFO position.
• Typical working hours are 8 hours per day with on-call duty approximately once every 3-4 weeks, usually on weekends.
• Annual travel is approximately 50 days, supporting various wind farm sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere strictly to safety and environmental protocols while meeting service performance targets.
• Conduct scheduled service inspections and perform repairs or replacements of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic components as per Vestas’ standards.
• Ensure optimal turbine performance, utilizing condition monitoring and remote control systems.
• Manage service vehicle upkeep and warehouse inventory, ordering necessary tools, materials, and parts.
• Handle assembly and servicing of components, using cranes when required, following current procedures and standards.

Qualifications and Competencies

• Trade qualification in electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic fields with a strong enthusiasm for skill enhancement.
• Proficient computer skills for system monitoring and documentation management.
• Competent in English communication, both spoken and written.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Commitment to maintaining the highest health and safety standards on the job.
• Capability to climb wind turbines and undertake physically demanding tasks in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to travel to different job sites as needed.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Independent, solution-focused, and highly organized work approach.
