About the Company

First Choice Maintenance Inc. (FCM) has been a trusted provider of facility maintenance services throughout Canada since 2003. The company specializes in plumbing, plumbing fixtures, water filtration systems, electrical work, and restaurant equipment maintenance, focusing on delivering dependable and responsive field services. FCM is fully Canadian-owned and committed to supporting tradespeople by providing them with the necessary tools, respect, and flexibility to thrive in dynamic environments.

Position Overview

This full-time field-based position is located in Kelowna, British Columbia, requiring daily visits to various commercial and foodservice job sites. The opportunity is well-suited for an experienced plumber with advanced skills in drain cleaning, water filtration servicing, plumbing fixtures, and commercial drainage system upkeep. The role demands diagnosing and resolving complex drain and pipe blockages efficiently and independently, often working onsite in active retail or restaurant environments, sometimes in confined spaces and during off-hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and fix commercial plumbing systems with emphasis on drain cleaning and blockage removal
  • Perform high-pressure drain jetting as well as service water filtration systems and plumbing fixtures
  • Complete preventive maintenance and service calls
  • Provide repair recommendations and maintain clear communication with internal teams
  • Ensure job sites remain safe, clean, and compliant with food safety standards throughout work periods
  • Submit accurate digital service reports and timesheets
  • Adhere strictly to safety rules, building codes, and company policies
  • Travel to multiple job locations during the workday using a company vehicle
  • Respond to after-hours or weekend service calls as necessary

Additional Work Information

Work schedules may vary depending on service demands and occasionally require evening or weekend hours with prior notification. FCM manages all customer billing and scheduling, allowing the plumber to concentrate entirely on their technical work with a steady flow of service assignments from established commercial clients.

Candidate Requirements

  • Certified Journeyman Plumber
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Proficiency using mobile applications and digital work order tools
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in plumbing, particularly in service-oriented roles
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge in diagnosing and repairing commercial plumbing systems, water filtration, and plumbing fixtures; expert in clearing blockages and servicing drainage systems
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Strong dedication to safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail
  • Effective professional communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Physical capability to lift between 50 and 100 pounds and operate in demanding conditions
  • Optional certifications: Gas Fitter and Backflow Certifications (beneficial but not mandatory)
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada (no work permit sponsorship provided)
  • Clear criminal background is mandatory

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly wage ranging from CA$40.00 to CA$45.00, based on experience
  • Access to a company vehicle and fuel card for job site travel
  • Provision of all necessary tools, equipment, and uniform
  • Health and dental insurance benefits following the probation period
  • Supportive onboarding and training programs
  • Stable employment with consistent year-round workload within a growing and efficiently managed company
