Position Overview
We are seeking a Journeyman Plumber based in Calgary, Alberta, for a full-time, field-based role. This position involves traveling daily to commercial and foodservice sites, performing expert drain cleaning and plumbing system maintenance. This role demands advanced hands-on skills for diagnosing and fixing complex drain and pipe blockages efficiently in often confined spaces and active restaurant environments, frequently outside regular hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, maintain, and repair commercial plumbing systems focusing heavily on clearing drains and blockages.
- Conduct drain cleaning and jetting along with servicing water filtration and plumbing fixtures.
- Execute service calls and regular preventative maintenance visits.
- Provide repair recommendations and maintain clear communication with team members.
- Ensure job sites are clean, safe, and compliant with food safety during and after work.
- Complete detailed digital service reports and timesheets accurately.
- Comply with all safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
- Travel between different sites daily using a company vehicle.
- Occasionally address after-hours or weekend service requests as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Certification as a Journeyman Plumber (mandatory).
- Possession of a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency with mobile applications, work orders, and digital tools.
- 3 to 5+ years of experience in a service-oriented plumbing role.
- Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and repairing commercial plumbing, water filtration, and drainage systems, including blockage removals.
- Ability to work autonomously with limited oversight.
- Strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Physical capability to lift between 50 and 100 pounds and operate in challenging environments.
- Backflow Certification (required); Gas Fitter Certification is advantageous but not required.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada (no sponsorships provided).
- Clean criminal background check.
