Role Overview
We are seeking a practical Service Desk Technician to join our IT department. This role involves more than simple ticket management: it requires active problem-solving, supporting end users, and engaging with varied IT challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for hardware, software, applications, and end-user technology.
- Manage the resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Troubleshoot issues related to users, systems, and networks across several locations.
- Offer support for user access and mobile devices within the technology environment.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and outside vendors to resolve complex problems.
- Assist with system updates, patches, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
- Create and update technical documentation and knowledge bases.
- Participate in initiatives for service improvements, upgrades, testing, and technology projects.
Work Location
This position is based in Oakleigh, Victoria, providing support to multiple sites throughout the south-east Melbourne region.
Candidate Profile
- Prior experience in positions like Service Desk, Help Desk, Desktop Support, or IT Support.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Windows operating systems.
- Experience supporting devices using mobile technology management tools such as Intune and other MDM solutions.
- Basic understanding of networking principles including LAN, WAN, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with cloud and infrastructure technologies like Azure and VMware.
- Competency in IT service management tools and processes.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Effective communication skills suitable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
