About the role

This position is with ABB, where the focus is on helping industries operate more efficiently and sustainably. The role reports to the Service Sales Manager and is part of the Electrification Services function in the MEA region. The work arrangement for this position is onsite in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Key purpose

The main objective of this role is to grow service sales, strengthen existing customer relationships, and drive profitable expansion across the installed base. The person in this role will work closely with the Service Sales Manager and/or Service Manager to identify opportunities, expand the service portfolio footprint, and improve customer satisfaction while protecting profitability.

What you will do

  • Identify customer needs and recommend digital and advisory offerings that create value for their assets.
  • Keep the approved service database updated with site-level changes to the installed base.
  • Create and pursue leads that contribute to the achievement of assigned sales targets.
  • Use the installed-base database to map current assets, uncover opportunities in existing and new installed bases, and promote upgrades, retrofits, and other value-added solutions.
  • Work across the full service portfolio to support profitability for the assigned business and product groups.
  • Own and implement electrification service sales plans that support long-term order growth and profitability.
  • Position advanced services, replacements, retrofits, upgrades, installation and commissioning, workshop services, spare parts, service-level agreements, energy-efficiency offerings, digital solutions, and customer training.
  • Ensure all activities follow legal, ethical, policy, procedure, and safety requirements.
  • Collaborate across ABB teams to bring in additional portfolio offerings where needed.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships by understanding requirements, relevant regulations, and technical service solutions, with a focus on life cycle management.
  • Record customer feedback and maintain strong customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
  • Plan and complete the required weekly sales visits and log them in CRM.
  • Maintain highly accurate order forecasting, targeting 95% accuracy.
  • Assess important business drivers and emerging risks such as sustainability, digitalization, and cyber security, and translate them into opportunities for ABB.
  • Contribute to account sales strategy by sharing customer business information and long-term plans.
  • Lead account planning and growth actions for share-of-wallet expansion.

Role requirements

  • Degree or background in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in service sales.
  • Strong track record in selling service solutions for switchgear and protection relays.
  • Exposure to digital solutions is an added advantage.
  • Prior relationships and engagement with major government end users and industrial customers in the region.
  • Strong technical knowledge in selling service agreements is preferred.
  • Excellent English communication and negotiation skills.
  • Innovative mindset with strong networking ability and curiosity to explore new ideas.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think beyond standard approaches.
  • High ownership, commitment, attention to detail, and willingness to go the extra mile.
  • Team-oriented, solution-focused approach with proven relationship management capability.
  • Ability to meet legal, ethical, policy, and safety expectations in daily work.
