Job description

Role overview

NYP Library is seeking an experienced, forward-looking professional to strengthen and evolve its library systems and digital environment. This position supports library operations and academic services through platform administration, IT governance, workflow automation, and AI-enabled solutions that improve service quality, accessibility, and the overall user experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee and continuously enhance the Library Services Platform and discovery tools, including setup, integrations, and system upgrades.
  • Track IT assets, system health, and configuration standards while ensuring alignment with WoG ICT security requirements and PDPA rules.
  • Work closely with the IT team and relevant stakeholders on infrastructure and system-related issues, and assist with project delivery and change activities such as software rollouts, migrations, and platform improvements.
  • Handle vendors and contract arrangements, ensuring service delivery and outputs meet agreed service levels.
  • Design and introduce AI-based solutions, technology applications, and digital services that support library operations and service innovation.
  • Create automated workflows and reporting dashboards that boost efficiency, strengthen reporting, and support better decisions.
  • Assist teaching and learning activities for schools and departments by developing resources, curating content, and running programmes and activities.
  • Contribute to projects, task forces, and committees that support NYP and Library initiatives.
  • Identify and implement practical improvements to simplify workflows, raise service standards, and carry out other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or another closely related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in systems administration, application support, or IT project delivery.
  • Exposure to library systems and the library setting will be considered an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, APIs, and authentication standards such as SAML.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Python, especially for automation and data workflow tasks.
  • Practical familiarity with AI concepts and implementing AI solutions.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
