  • Manage sourcing, production, and bottling operations.
  • Coordinate with contract winemaking facilities and production collaborators.
  • Develop wine styles suitable for diverse markets and consumer preferences.
  • Oversee blending, tasting, and quality assurance processes.
  • Support vintage operations in Marlborough and Hawke's Bay regions.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with growers and winery partners.
  • Uphold industry-leading quality standards throughout production.
  • Drive innovation initiatives and contribute to new product development.

Candidate Profile

  • Deep passion for producing exceptional wine.
  • Proficient in crafting both value-driven and premium wines.
  • Commercially aware and attuned to market demands and consumer expectations.
  • Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with excellent management skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed between regions.
  • Flexible and capable of working with various winery partners.
  • Curious and committed to continuous quality improvement.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Over 10 years of winemaking experience in New Zealand.
  • Specialized expertise in Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
  • Experience with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and aromatic grape varieties.
  • Familiarity with Hawke's Bay red wine styles.
  • Proven track record managing contract production facilities.
  • Strong sensory evaluation and blending capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently produce wines that perform above their price bracket.
