Senior Vice President of Project Operations

Position Overview

This executive role is focused on steering project operations at an organizational level. The person in this position will shape and improve how major projects are planned, run, and completed, with an emphasis on efficiency, strong execution, and alignment with the company’s broader goals. The role works closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver strong business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Set and lead organization-wide strategies for project operations that support long-term business objectives.
• Direct the planning, implementation, and completion of multiple large, strategic projects.
• Design, refine, and scale project management methods, operating processes, and governance structures.
• Work in partnership with executive leaders, clients, and internal teams to keep initiatives aligned and successful.
• Track project progress, budgets, staffing, deadlines, and risks to maintain high operational standards.
• Guide, coach, and grow high-performing project management and operations teams.
• Introduce and sustain process-improvement efforts that raise productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Handle operating budgets, financial performance across projects, forecasting, and cost control.
• Spot delivery risks early and put effective mitigation plans in place.
• Promote a workplace culture built on accountability, teamwork, innovation, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in project management, program management, operations, or a similar executive function.
• Demonstrated success overseeing large-scale, cross-functional projects and enterprise operations.
• Strong capability in leadership, organization, and strategic planning.
• Excellent skills in communication, negotiation, and executive-level presentations.
• Hands-on experience with project delivery approaches such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid models.
• Solid background in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline is required.
• MBA, PMP, PgMP, Lean Six Sigma, or comparable professional credentials are strongly preferred.

• Strong analytical thinking with experience using KPIs, dashboards, and performance measures.
