Role Summary
The Senior Vice President, Business Planning will own the creation and rollout of the company’s long-range business plans, partnering with senior leadership to set strategic priorities and financial objectives. This position is full-time and hybrid in Los Angeles, CA, with flexibility to work part-time from home. The role requires leading annual planning cycles, reviewing financial and operating performance, preparing polished executive materials, and working with business unit leaders on new initiatives, investment evaluation, and resource planning. It also involves coaching team members, strengthening planning processes, and making sure plans stay aligned with market realities, regulatory expectations, and growth goals.
Core Duties
- Build and manage long-term business plans in partnership with executive leadership.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking, and variance review across annual planning cycles.
- Perform detailed financial and operational analysis to support key business decisions.
- Develop executive-level presentations, reports, and recommendations.
- Work with business unit leaders to assess new initiatives and investment opportunities.
- Improve how resources are allocated across the organization.
- Guide and mentor team members involved in planning and analysis.
- Enhance planning frameworks and ensure alignment with business strategy.
- Keep business plans consistent with regulatory requirements and current market conditions.
Qualifications
- Proven background in business planning and strategic planning with a strong record of supporting long-term growth.
- Solid analytical and finance experience, including the ability to interpret complex information and create financial models.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and variance analysis.
- Significant leadership experience in financial services or a similar environment, including exposure to senior stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel capability and experience using financial planning software; knowledge of BI or data visualization tools is a plus.
- Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hybrid work setting based in Los Angeles, CA.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; MBA or comparable advanced degree is strongly preferred.
