About the Role
Sandicliffe Maxus is seeking a qualified Senior Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join their team at Nottingham Nissan. This is a permanent, full-time position that emphasizes professional vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and testing to meet both manufacturer and industry standards. The role requires expertise in EV technologies as well as general vehicle mechanical service skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute thorough diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles compliant with manufacturer guidelines and MOT standards.
- Perform electronic visual health checks (eVHC) and effectively communicate related advice to customers.
- Carry out comprehensive vehicle inspections before and after servicing.
- Manage parts procurement efficiently and ensure all repairs are tested for performance and safety.
- Maintain detailed records consistent with company policies and regulatory demands.
- Uphold health and safety standards within all job functions.
- Engage in continuous learning and participate in training sessions to stay current with automotive innovations.
- Support and mentor junior staff and apprentices to foster skill development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Certified to Level 3 IMI Vehicle Technician standard or an equivalent qualification.
- Possession of a valid full UK driving licence.
- Electric Vehicle (EV) qualification or willingness to obtain such credentials.
- Strong analytical problem-solving abilities paired with meticulous attention to detail.
- Customer-oriented, capable of translating technical concepts for non-technical customers.
- Efficient time management and organizational skills to meet operational deadlines.
