Senior Trading Business Analyst (Contractor)

Primary Role

• Support the execution of the company's strategic transformation vision, ensuring alignment with long-term objectives and system architecture.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to gather detailed requirements, design, and implement optimized application solutions.
• Oversee product backlogs and coordinate with technical teams for development and delivery.
• Foster teamwork by uniting IT and commercial departments in joint efforts.
• Engage directly with business units, prioritizing customer-centric approaches and effective communication across various organizational levels and departments.
• Help assess the effects of business changes and facilitate adoption by relevant teams.
• Offer expert technical support on applications related to the company’s domains, cooperating with other ICT units.

Educational Background

• Bachelor’s degree in technology or finance from a globally accredited university.

Experience and Expertise

• At least nine years of professional experience in commodities trading, ideally with international oil companies (IOCs), trading houses, national oil companies (NOCs), or technology vendors focusing on change management, processes, and technology implementations.
• In-depth experience with Commodity/Energy Trading and Risk Management (C/ETRM) systems.
• Skill in designing and deploying C/ETRM solutions to optimize trading strategies, improve risk controls, and boost operational effectiveness.
• Familiarity with C/ETRM platforms such as Openlink, TriplePoint, and Allegro; knowledge of Planlogic EOS, Veson Nautical IMOS, and SAP is beneficial.
• Strong grasp of commodity markets, with preference for LNG knowledge, including trading strategies, organizational processes, risk management, and related IT systems like fleet management and market analytics.
• Comprehensive understanding of commodity trading, shipping, and finance with strong front-to-back office trade lifecycle competence.
• Specialized expertise in areas like physical LNG trading, cargo management, shipping operations, derivatives & emission markets, risk and financial trading, or optimizing trading portfolios.

• Understanding of IT standards, architectural design, system integration, and methodologies.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

• Superior communication, presentation, and persuasion abilities, adept at conveying complex ideas appropriately to executives, stakeholders, and external vendors.

Tools & Software Proficiency

• Advanced command of workplace software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with project management and collaboration platforms such as MS Project, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira, Miro, and Mural.
• Comfortable manipulating data using SQL queries and Excel functions.

Project & Delivery Experience

• Hands-on experience with agile methodologies; certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
