Senior Trading Project Manager (Contractor)

Role Overview

This position entails leading and overseeing medium to large-scale IT projects focused on delivering or transforming specialized company trading solutions. The incumbent will ensure these initiatives align with business objectives while adhering to ICT governance and security requirements.

Primary Duties

• Lead end-to-end project management for designated IT projects implementing or upgrading company trading solutions within defined scopes and timeframes.
• Ensure compliance with organizational business needs and ICT policies including security and governance during solution implementation and transformations.
• Manage all project elements as outlined in project charters, including procurement activities.
• Collaborate closely with company stakeholders to understand their critical needs and priorities.
• Evaluate potential solutions such as new applications or enhancements, facilitating selection and documenting decisions.
• Enforce security protocols and manage vulnerabilities related to project systems, maintaining a secure operating environment.
• Adhere to established processes and best practices to effectively control and mitigate risks associated with projects or solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Petroleum & Energy, MBA, or equivalent.
• Preferred certifications include PMP or equivalent in project management and ITIL or equivalent in IT service management.

Experience & Expertise

• At least 9 years of progressive experience directly related to IT project management, specifically within trading solutions.
• Proven track record managing complex, high-value trading solution implementation projects, including leadership over resources and contract management.
• In-depth understanding of the Oil & Gas industry, with specialized knowledge in trading business practices and related technologies such as C/E-TRM, fleet management, trading platforms, and market analytics.
• Strong practical knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies, both waterfall and Agile.
• Competence in establishing and managing contracts and commercial agreements.
• Familiarity with IT standards, architectural principles, integration methods, and best practices.
• Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to influence and partner closely with stakeholders to arrive at viable solutions.
• Advanced skills with workplace productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) along with project management and collaboration software including MS Project, Azure DevOps, Confluence, Jira, Miro, Mural, and Office Timeline.
• Experienced in preparing detailed reports and delivering presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills suited to culturally diverse work environments.
