Job description
Job Summary
This position supports the Corporate Sustainability Department in improving ESG transparency by overseeing the collection, analysis, and audit-related work required for sustainability reporting.
The selected candidate will help prepare QAFCO’s annual Sustainability Reports, including ESG and IFRS S1/S2 reporting, along with any other related disclosures. The role suits a detail-focused, data-oriented professional who understands sustainability frameworks and modern reporting practices.
Key Accountabilities
- Collect and organize the data needed to evaluate the company’s environmental, social, and governance performance.
- Use analytical and report-writing capabilities to produce detailed sustainability reports that reflect progress, highlight improvement areas, and follow recognized standards such as GRI, SASB, and IFRS S1/S2.
- Handle external sustainability questionnaires, surveys, regulatory disclosures, and certification-related submissions.
- Support delivery of the QAFCO Sustainability Plan through planning, tracking, review, and ongoing enhancement of its systems, processes, measures, activities, and reporting outputs.
- Assist in identifying, monitoring, and reporting sustainability risks and opportunities.
- Work with teams across the business to collect, monitor, and report sustainability-related information while maintaining data quality and accuracy.
- Review how current reporting processes affect internal and external stakeholders and contribute ideas to improve them.
- Help design communication approaches that strengthen stakeholder engagement.
- Stay current on emerging sustainability reporting developments, standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Compare practices against industry benchmarks and recommend ways to strengthen ESG disclosures.
- Evaluate how internal and external reporting changes may affect QAFCO stakeholders from a sustainability perspective.
- Suggest process and technology improvements to make data gathering, validation, and audit activities more efficient.
- Ensure personal work practices align with QAFCO’s vision, values, standards, and procedures.
- Encourage colleagues to demonstrate the behaviors needed to achieve departmental goals.
- Review departmental policies and recommend improvements to support smooth operations and a strong internal and external corporate image.
Desired Candidate Profile
The role calls for a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Sustainable Development or Environmental Science.
The ideal candidate should bring 5 to 8 years of direct, relevant experience in a similar position, preferably in the petrochemical or oil and gas sector.
Additional experience in climate-risk quantification, carbon reporting, emissions-reduction strategies, and materiality assessments is important.
Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks, reporting standards, and best practices is required, along with solid skills in data analysis, research, and report writing.
Exposure to reporting platforms such as EcoVadis and Sedex, or comparable systems, is preferred, along with the ability to learn them quickly.
Experience with Life Cycle Assessment and Product Carbon Footprint calculations is also expected.
The person should work well in a multicultural team, build collaborative relationships, simplify complex data into clear insights, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
A genuine interest in sustainability and a commitment to environmental and social responsibility are essential.
