Senior SAP ABAP Support Consultant

About the role

GSPANN is hiring a Senior SAP ABAP Support Consultant to handle technical support and development work across SAP landscapes. The role focuses on resolving complex issues, building enhancements, and keeping business-critical systems stable in coordination with functional, integration, and BASIS teams.

What you will do

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 ABAP support for SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments.
• Investigate short dumps, update failures, and system performance problems.
• Trace and fix issues in custom developments such as IDoc flows, BAPIs, BAdIs, and user exits.
• Diagnose integration problems involving middleware such as PI/PO or CPI, including scenarios connected to Ariba, EWM, and third-party platforms.
• Develop and maintain custom reports, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, ALV reports, and SAP Scripts.
• Work with DDIC objects such as tables, table maintenance, views, search helps, domains, and data elements.
• Take part in code reviews, testing, and performance optimization efforts.
• Partner with BASIS and integration specialists to resolve cross-functional technical issues.

What we are looking for

• Solid hands-on experience in SAP ABAP support and development, with at least 4 years of experience mentioned for the role and 6+ years stated in the skills section.
• Strong working knowledge of RICEF objects: reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms.
• Practical experience in IDoc troubleshooting and ALE configuration.
• Strong debugging ability and familiarity with performance tuning methods.
• Experience with the Enhancement Framework, including user exits, BAdIs, and implicit or explicit enhancements.
• Working exposure to OO ABAP and BOPF is preferred.
• Experience supporting workflow issues and workflow enhancements.
• Exposure to SAP functional areas such as SD, MM, FI, EWM, and Ariba integration is an advantage.
• Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager or ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
• Good communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a global team.

Eligibility

Any graduate can apply. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent background is preferred. SAP ABAP or S/4HANA certification is optional but considered valuable. Experience in Agile or ITIL-based support environments is also preferred.

The company is looking for candidates who can join immediately or within 15 days.
