Role Overview

The Senior Business Systems Administrator specializing in Salesforce plays a crucial role in maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of Salesforce within the organization. This role requires close collaboration with key users to tailor and enhance the platform, aligning with strategic business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Business Applications leadership and stakeholders to identify system improvement needs and drive adoption and change management.
  • Manage Salesforce updates and deploy new features efficiently following disciplined change control procedures.
  • Customize Salesforce including objects, layouts, formulas, validation rules, Flows, approval processes, packages, Visualforce pages, Apex code, and Lightning Components.
  • Administer and support the Salesforce CPQ environment, including installation of managed packages.
  • Develop new report capabilities and manage ad-hoc report requests.
  • Oversee processes related to Salesforce, ensuring configuration, design, functionality, and end-user support meet business needs.
  • Identify and address production risks, prioritize improvements, and facilitate process adoption.
  • Maintain system security and integrity and have a strong understanding of tool integrations and their impact on the ecosystem.
  • Keep Salesforce documentation current and troubleshoot issues, communicating root causes and updates to leadership as necessary.
  • Provide technical support to strengthen relationships between the business applications team and internal users.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of Salesforce administration or development experience.
  • Salesforce Administrator Certification is mandatory; Advanced Administrator or Platform Developer I certifications are preferred.
  • Proven experience with Salesforce CPQ and proficiency in JavaScript, Apex, SOQL, and HTML.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to quickly understand the business environment and associated tools like Gainsight, Marketo, and Outreach.
  • Experience working in Agile environments managing tasks within Jira Sprints/Releases.
  • Collaborative skills to interact effectively with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and design technical solutions.
  • Understanding of SaaS sales lifecycle (Lead to Book) and SOX compliance processes.
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Proficiency with standard office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Predominantly sedentary tasks performed in sitting or standing positions in an office setting.
  • Competency with computer and communication technology and the ability to maintain visual focus on device screens.
  • Mobility to navigate office spaces and travel as needed (up to 10% of the time).
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 25 pounds occasionally.
